Vail Village makes me feel like I just stepped foot in a quaint German town. Almost any shop that you could want while on vacation is located in Vail Village from your typical souvenir shop to custom cowboy hats at Kemo Sabe. And when it comes to dining there are some of my favorite restaurants there. I will detail our highlights of Vail Village and then list some other places to add to your list.
Where to eat...
Miller & Lux
This is Tyler Florence’s restaurant pop-up in the Four Seasons that is only open until April 15th. This was hands down the best meal we have ever had!! The atmosphere, service, and food are all top tier. We started with the seafood tower, everything was amazing but the oysters were a table favorite. If you have read any of my other posts, I am a huge fan of what I call “dinner and a show” aka a tableside experience. Luckily the friends we were with also love this in a restaurant. Because of that, my friend and I ordered the Caesar salad for two that is prepared tableside. They go through all the ingredients as they make the salad and it is not your typical Caesar. As soon as I heard quail egg and Meyer lemon I knew it would be delicious. Everyone at the table ordered steak for their entrée but I had to have Dover Sole that is finished tableside. They bring out this beautiful copper sauté pan to make the sauce that is poured on top of the sole that is deboned at the table. I ate every last morsel that was on the plate.I wish we had saved room for dessert because I have seen all the options on social media and I want them now. This is one of the pricier restaurants that we ate at but I would do it again. Miller & Lux is a luxury dining experience that is unlike any other. Although you won't be able to have this meal in Vail after April 15th you can still dine at Miller & Lux in San Francisco.
The Remedy Bar
My friend Lauren went to Vail a few years ago and posted a picture of this fancy looking hot chocolate from the Four Seasons. This immediately went on my list of things to do. I know it sounds odd to have a specialty hot chocolate on your must do list but it was unlike any other. Again, another tableside experience is their famous Haut Chocolat. Remedy Bar is a great place for afternoon cocktails or for lunch. We stopped in for lunch followed by the signature Haut Chocolat for dessert. Things to order: the burger, elk chili, and the margarita flatbread. They bring out the Haut Chocolat in a kettle and pour over a marshmallow that is sitting on a piece of decorative chocolate on top of the mug. The chocolate eventually breaks sending the marshmallow into the mug. It was worth every penny.
Other Dining Options:

Custom Cowboy Hat at Kemo Sabe
Is a trip out west even complete if you don’t get some western wear to bring home? I have been looking at designing my own custom cowboy hat and when we walked into Kemo Sabe I felt the time was now. Everything in the store is so luxurious. They have so many options to choose from for the hats. Even the base of the hats are different with three categories in different price ranges. Once you pick your base hat/get measured then you are walked over to pick a band or silks or both. I saw one on the wall that I wanted to make mine similar to. I skipped the band, although now I kind of wish I got the hippo leather band, and went straight to the silks. I told the guy helping me what my color scheme was and he literally picked the best colors on the first try. After silks and a small leather band we went over to the branding station. This was a one of a kind experience that I’m so glad I did. I love my hat and the experience started my love for customized hats. I will definitely be back in the future for another one or maybe some fancy boots to match my hat.
